That kindness and empathy does not come for free. Someone had to go through darkness, pushing through their own fears and insecurities, to come out the other side in one piece. For words are cheap and goodwill actions are the true character of a person whose character got broken down by life, in order for them to understand the needs of others and their emotional state.
Because – words are cheap and action requires a level of commitment to words that we usher. Words without actions are hollow gongs. Most people don’t understand that people observe our actions, not our words.
If we are unwilling to get our hands dirty, then – all we are doing is virtue signaling.
The true test of a person’s character is their ability to walk with someone when there is nothing in it for them, except for the mere fact that they understand the depth and breadth of what it feels like to be in a world with little hope.
We may think our action (no matter how small) has no impact on another person, it has more of an impact than we think.
